Georgian Naval Officer’s Dirk, curved single edge blade etched with panels containing trophy of arms and laurel, and flowering foliage, together with sprays of foliage and flowers, recurved gilt brass crosspiece with swollen finials chiselled with flowering foliage, pommel engraved with flower, in its brass sheath engraved with foliage and "H.Merry May 4th 1849", twin hanging rings, foliate chased hanging bands, acorn finial. Blade 26cms, overall 34cms.
