Imperial German Prussian Infantry Officer’s Sword.

Straight, double fullered , etched with crowned eagle, trophy of arms, classical figure and lion’s head within closely scrolled panels, regulation brass hilt with turned over inner guard, and 2 sidebars incorporating eagle, forward sloping capped pommel, wirebound fish skin grip with applied crowned WRII cypher, finger loop, in its steel scabbard with single ring. On the back of the blade is "OTTO MERTENS WAFFENFABRIK SOLINGEN" the maker. Blade length is 87.3 cm. Overall length is 100 cm
