A Saxony Fusillers M1845 Sidearm, straight blade, slightly widening towards hatchet point, clear crowned JR ( Johann 1854 - 73) stamp on one side at forte and maker's mark "PDL" in oval on the other, solid drass hilt with shallow shaped crossguard, large pommel stud, ribbed grip, erased stamps "L.I.I." on crossguard. Blade length is 48 cm. Overall length is 62 cm.
